Global Leadership Conference
The 2014 Global Volunteer conference is offered to provide you with an opportunity to expand Girl Scout knowledge through workshops, networking and guest speakers. Workshops will include topics to add to your Girl Scout expertise, and boost Professional Development.
You will enjoy food, fun, and friendship throughout the conference with sister Girl Scouts from around the world. You will hear from guest speakers that will inspire and motivate you, and you will have an opportunity to enjoy the thrill of a live auction with all proceeds going to our Girl Scout community here in the West Pacific.

This year’s Saturday Adult Award Banquet theme is “Hats Off to Our Volunteers.” We are encouraging you to wear your best “party” hat. Be creative and/or stylish, we will have a hat contest and award prizes in several categories. So come prepared to show off your “top hat.”
Conference Dates: April 25-27, 2014
Event Time: 4pm Friday, April 25 - 12pm Sunday, April 27
Who should come: Any registered Girl Scout adult! We encourage each committee to send at least three representatives that will be able to share workshop information when she/he returns.
Registration Cost: $200 per person for USAGSO – West Pacific volunteers and $250 for non-West Pacific volunteers. Register now!
Travel Grants: Unfortunately there are no grants, scholarships or financial assistance available from USAGSO-West Pacific for this conference. Check with your location and/or your OC to see if there are additional funds available for adult learning opportunities.
Volunteers Needed: We are looking for individuals to help us before, during, and after the conference. This is perfect for Single Soldiers/Airmen, Senior high school students; Girl Scouts to earn community volunteer hours. Some of the roles you may fill - packing items for conference delivery, loading and unloading conference supplies, room monitor, helping in the shop, helping display auction items, first aid, and help in the information booth. Accommodations:We will be staying at the historic National Olympics Memorial Youth Center, Tokyo, Japan. Reservations are only accepted through our conference registration link. Rooms are limited and must be paid in advance with conference registration. Check in time is 3 pm and checkout time is 11am.
Western - $35 per night (Single room includes bathroom and shower)
Dorm - $20 per night (individual rooms; participants responsible to make up beds; shared bathroom facilities)
Conference Site: This year's conference will be held at the historic National Olympics Memorial Youth Center in Japan. The Center is utilizes a portion of the 1964 Olympic cillage that housed the Olympic athletes that competed that year. To learn more about the center click here.

Presenter Proposal: Do you have a fun topic you want to present at the conference? Complete and submit the presenter proposal form by March 15th and you may be one of the workshop presenters.
Auction Items: Be part of our annual celebration by putting together a "basket" of items for a silent auction to be held that day. Auction proceeds will be used to support out local programs. With your help, more girls can have the opportunity to develop courage, confidence and character! Complete the "Basket Auction" form today! Dress Code: For morning and afternoon sessions Girl Scout attire (khakis, Girl Scout polo, and scarf). Saturday banquet fun attire for the evening with your “fun hat” to show off.
